0.2.0
2026-10-22
Pixtorium is now in open beta.
- Frames are drawn, not tiled: new wood frames (Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Mahogany, Ebony, Driftwood), and the stone, paper and nature frames keep their colors in patterns that never repeat.
- Effects › Stylize › Triangulate, and File › Export as SVG.
- Effects › Distort › Rain, and Pond ripples.
- Effects › Artistic › Watercolor; the running-paint effects are one submenu.
- Black hole and Splash remade; Deformations is now Reflections.
- Enhance › Red eye removal.
- Help › Release notes.
- About says where Pixtorium comes from, and that you can paint with just about any effect.
- Previews that change the picture's shape no longer show dark stripes beside them; a command that runs at once, such as Equalization, no longer brings back the preview of an operation left open in the panel.
0.1.0
2026-10-21
The first release with desktop installers.
- Installers for Windows (x64 and ARM64), macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux (.deb and .rpm).
- Artistic effects after painters: Impressionist, Pointillist, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Signac, Munch and Turner's watercolor, and flat-color styles after Matisse, Tarkay, Hokusai, Lichtenstein, Mondrian and Warhol.
- Oil paint and Gouache repaint the picture without running paint over its edges.
- Craquelure, Mosaic tiles, Slate and other textures are generated, never repeating.
- Cutout frames the picture in 3D when nothing is selected.
- Picture hose, Frames, Dust cleaner and Scratch removal.
- Lessons in the assistant panel; macros can run on a whole folder.
- Menus list each command once; File › Open a sample offers portraits, people and architecture.
